Our conversations, delving deep into the world of Vietnam artistry, always gave me a lot of new perspectives to expand my knowledge in the field, as well as to get more prepared and filled up with ideas for my future project of preserving Vung Tau traditional handicrafts.

Then, even though they were not looking for new employees, I applied for an internship in her business, believing that the upcoming journey will be full of meaningful lessons.

Our team also got trusted to represent Maypaperflower in Social Business Creation competition - A global competition & educating platform for social businesses, organized by HEC Montreal, Canada and Nobel laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus - and achieved numerous awards, boosting Maypaperflower’s brand recognition on a global scale.

MY ENCOUNTER

Born and raised in a family with many years of selling Vung Tau handicrafts, I have witnessed the fading presence of traditional products and cultural values. I was dedicated to preserve this industry and articulated a vision to blend heritage with contemporary innovation.

Searching the internet, looking for solutions, it was then I came across Maypaperflower - a start-up found in 2019 with the aim to preserve Hue city’s paper flower tradition. Sharing the same roots and motivations, I instantly got captivated and decided to contact Ms. Hieu - Founder & CEO of Maypaperflower to share my stories and look for new insights.

Passing numerous rounds and having Ms. Hieu’s trust, I finally became a Business Development Intern at Maypaperflower and was assigned to lead a team of 5 college students to plan and execute business strategies.

Being supervised directly by Ms.Hieu, our team worked tirelessly, had meetings once every 2 - 3 days and achieved certain milestones not only for Maypaperflower but also for our own growth:

Attracted 100+ new long-term clients in Q3 2023
Oversaw growth projects to identify innovation opportunities:

Found new eco-friendly materials that would reduce production cost by at least 20%
Fostered partnerships with 10+ new suppliers: Lanvi paper, Thuan An paper, etc.
